Apple Dip Recipes

Apples taste great on their own, but from time to time it's fun to enjoy the treat of apple slices dipped in a scrumptious dip.

Caramel, Skor, chocolate, and cream cheese and peanut butter are common ingredients in dips for apples.

Dip can be made for a single serving, as most dips will keep for a few days in the refrigerator, or they can be created for a family get together, a party, or any special occasion.

It is always a much appreciated treat when someone brings apples and dip to one of our family get-togethers.

One thing can be sure, if you bring this apple treat to an event, you will be bringing your dish home empty, in fact, it will probably be one of the first dishes emptied!

Not only are fresh apples and dip more nutritious than "potato chips and dip", but it will prove to be much tastier too!

Dips for apples can be prepared in advance, however, the actual fruit preparation (coring, slicing, etc.) should be done just prior to serving. If the apples are prepared too much in advance, they will turn brown, and lose their "eye appeal".

Some apples have a much slower rate at which they turn brown. Two of the most common examples of these types of apples are "Granny Smith" (these are a green apple), and "Cortland" (these are a red apple).

You can also toss the sliced apples in a tiny bit of lemon juice. This will help to preserve the apples, and keep them from turning brown quickly, by slowing the process of turning brown.

If you are just looking for an idea to make eating your apple more special, dip your apple slices in yogurt. Plain yogurt, yogurt with fruit, or any type of yogurt makes a great, quick and easy (no effort needed) dip!

Kids are more likely to eat ALL their fruit when they are able to "dip" too! Not just apples, but almost any fresh fruit tastes that much better when dipped in yogurt!
