Fruit sauces can be made with one specific fruit, such as applesauce, or made with a combination of fruit, such as apples and berries, or peaches or pears.
All of the fruit sauce recipes included in this recipe collection are made with apples and one additional type of fruit.
Since (in most areas) apples are available at all times of the year, I chose apples as the one fruit ingredient of each of the different sauces.
These recipes can be made without any added sugar, or you can add sugar to your liking. You can also add artificial sweeteners instead. These fruit recipes are obviously fat-free too! Healthy choice recipes indeed!

If you wish to freeze the homemade sauce, allow the sauce to cool, then simply pour it into freezer-safe containers or sealable bags, and store it in the freezer for up to a year.
If you prefer to preserve the homemade sauce by canning it, transfer the applesauce to the glass jars as per canning guidelines and process the jars in a boiling-water canner as follows:
At altitudes of 0 - 1,000 feet - Quarts - 20 minutes / Pints - 15 minutes
At altitudes of 1,001 - 3,000 feet - Quarts - 25 minutes / Pints - 20 minutes
At altitudes of 3,001 - 6,000 feet - Quarts - 30 minutes / Pints - 20 minutes
At altitudes Above 6,000 feet - Quarts - 35 minutes / Pints 25 minutes
Or process as per the Canner instructions and recommendations and directions.
