"Cake" is one of those irresistible things in life, would you not agree? 

Usually, when I hear the word "cake" I already start to feel guilty about enjoying a piece.

However, unlike chocolate cake, and other high calorie count cakes, apple cake contains healthy and nutritious apples, so it is relatively a healthy choice of cake!

I, for one, do not feel as guilty savouring a piece of delicious apple cake as I would another tempting counterpart laden with sweet, rich icing, you know - the ones which makes you feel like you are gaining a few pounds just looking staring at it!

Many cakes made with apples are a "coffee cake" type of cake, suitable for dessert, or served as a snack while enjoying a cup of coffee or tea.

As I am writing this, it's "apple harvest time" in the area in which I live, and my husband has already asked me several times in the last few days, "When are you going to make an apple cake?".
