Recipe #1 - Apple and Cucumber Smoothie
Ingredients
1 apple
10 thick slices of cucumber
Directions
Peel, core and quarter the apples.
Add all ingredients to the blender, and blend for about 30 seconds, or until smooth.
Serves 2.
Recipe #2 - Apple, Carrot and Cucumber Smoothie
Ingredients
2 apples
2 medium size carrots
1 cucumber
1/4 cup water or less
Directions
Wash, core and chop the apples (leave the peel on, unless undesired).
Peel and chop the carrots.
Wash and chop the cucumber.
Place the apples, carrots and the cucumber in a blender or food processor, with a little of the water.
Process the mixture, adding a little more water as necessary to achieve desired consistency until smooth.
Pour into glasses.
Serves 2.
Smoothie Tip
Garnish the smoothie using pieces of carrot, cucumber and apple on a cocktail stick lengthwise across the opening of the glass.
Recipe #3 - Apple and Celery Smoothie
Ingredients
1 apple
1 cup chopped celery
1 1/2 cups milk
1/8 tsp. granulated sugar, optional
pinch of salt, optional
Directions
Peel, core and chop the apple.
Put the apple pieces, celery pieces and the milk into a food processor or a blender and blend until smooth.
Stir in the 1/8 tsp. sugar (if desired), and a pinch of salt.
Pour into chilled glasses.
Serves 2.
Smoothie Tip
Garnish the top of the smoothie with strips of celery!
Recipe #4 - Apple, Banana, Carrot, Orange, Date, Flax Seed Smoothie
Ingredients
2 apples
2 bananas
2 carrots
2 oranges
5 dates, pitted
2 tbsp. flax seed (ground or raw)
12 ice cubes
Directions
Wash, core, peel (if desired), and chop the apples.
Slice the bananas.
Peel and chop the carrots.
Peel and separate the orange segments.
Add the prepared apples, bananas, carrots and oranges to the blender or the food processor.
Add the dates, flax seed, and the ice.
Blend until smooth.
Pour into chilled glasses.
Serves 2.
