Recipe #1 - Apple, Kiwi, Berries, Orange Smoothie

Ingredients

2 kiwis
1 dozen strawberries
2 apples
1 large or 2 small oranges
water, as necessary

Directions

Peel and chop the kiwis.

Wash and hull the strawberries.

Peel, core, and chop the apples.

Peel and divide orange into segments.

Add all ingredients to the blender, blend until smooth. Add water as necessary to attain desired consistency.

Pour into glasses, and serve immediately.

Serves 2.

Recipe #2 - Summertime Smoothie

Ingredients

1 dozen cherries
1 apple
1 banana
1 kiwi
1/2 cup blueberries
1/4 cup apple juice

Directions

Stone the cherries.

Peel, core and chop the apples.

Slice the banana into pieces.

Peel and chop the kiwi.

Wash the blueberries.

Add all the prepared fruit to the blender or food processor, blend, and add the apple juice as needed to attain desired consistency.

Pour into glasses and serve immediately.

Serves 2.

Smoothie Tips

Garnish or decorate smoothies with slices of fresh kiwi or other fresh fruit on a cocktail pick or cut to fit the edge of the glass.

If the smoothie is of a thick consistency, it is also fun to place a slice of fresh fruit on top of the smoothie.

You can also garnish the edge of the glass with "rim sugar", this is especially fun for kids! (see link).

Easy Smoothie Clean-Up
